Indicator Education of adult population
Definition Adult functional literacy rate - total adults who possess a higher level of literacy which includes not only reading and writing skills but also numerical skills, as a percentage share of total adult population 25-64 years old. The skills must be sufficiently advanced to enable the individual to participate fully and efficiently in activities commonly occurring in his/her life situation that require a reasonable capability of communicating by written language
