Table ID: 3E3D12A0

Indicator Tuberculosis incidence per 100,000 population
Tuberculosis detection rate under DOTS, percentage
Tuberculosis treatment success rate under DOTS, percentage
Definition The rate at which new cases of tuberculosis occur in the population. The numerator is the number of new cases of tuberculosis that occur during a given period (usually a year), and the denominator is the number of the population at risk of experiencing tuberculosis during the same period, usually expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 persons.
This refers to TB cases detected over the estimated number of such cases during a certain period of time The number of new, registered smear-positive (infectious) cases who were cured or who completed a full course of DOTS as a percentage of all new smearpositive tuberculosis cases.
Method of Computation The numerator is the number of new cases of tuberculosis that occur during a given period (usually a year), and the denominator is the number of the population at risk of experiencing tuberculosis during the same period, usually expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 persons.
