Indicator Total Volume of Slaughtered Animals/Dressed Chicken
Definition Slaughter refers to butchering of animal for the purpose of human consumption
Dressing refers to progressive separation on thr dressing floor of food animal into a carcass (or sides of a carcass), offals and inedible by-products. It may include the removal of the head, hide or skin, genital organs, urinary bladder, feet and, in lactating animals, the removal of the udder.
"Total Slaughter-Refers to the number of locally raised animals/birds slaughtered/dressed plus animals/birds imported or shipped-in for slaughter within the reference period.
Method of Computation Production in metric tons
Chicken and Duck Meat - Volume of Production (in metric ton) is equal to number of birds multiplied by average weight per bird (LWT) divided by 1000
Chicken Egg and Duck Egg - Volume of Production (in metric ton) is equal to number of pieces divided by conversion factor of egg by type in kilogram divided by 1000
