The total number of barangays based on the Philippine Standard Geographic Code as of December 2022 was recorded at 42,022. However, two barangays were uninhabited during the enumeration: 1. Barangay Uauang-Galicia, Santo Tomas, Isabela - submerged by the Cagayan River 2. Barangay Kantagnos, Baybay City, Leyte - due to permanent displacement of residents following a landslide in April 2022 Thus, the 2022 CAF covered 42,020 barangays in the barangay-level interviews.
