Footnotes

/ Estimates for April 2005 to January 2016 adopted the 2000-based Population Projection
/ Starting April 2005, the new unemployment definition was adopted per NSCB Resolution no. 15 dated October 20, 2004. As indicated in the said resolution, the unemployed include all persons who are 15 years old and over as of their last birthday and are reported as (1) without work; AND (2) currently available for work; AND (3) seeking work OR not seeking work due to valid reasons.
/ The province of Basilan is included in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao while Isabela City (Basilan) is placed under Region IX, in accordance with Executive Order No. 36.
/ Calculation of the October 2013 estimates includes data from the Province of Leyte.
/ Region VIII was not covered in the January 2014 LFS due to the effects of Typhoon Yolanda
/ The province of Leyte was not covered during the April 2014, July 2014, October 2014, January 2015 and April 2015 rounds because new sampling frame for the province of Leyte has to be created as an effect of the large number of households in Leyte which were displaced by typhoon Yolanda. The old listing of households for Leyte used as sampling frame for the 2003 Master Sample is no longer usable.
/ Starting 2021, the Labor Force Survey is conducted monthly. However, the regular LFS rounds (January, April, July and October rounds) can provide reliable estimates at the regional level while the Special LFS rounds (February, March, May, June, August, September, November and December rounds) can only provide reliable estimate at the national level. In the annual estimates starting 2021, the estimates were derived by taking the average of all the LFS rounds from January to December.
/ Starting January 2023, the new structure of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) includes provinces of Maguindanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte (previously Province of Maguindanao), Cotabato City and the eight cluster areas (63 barangays, previously from Province of Cotabato)
/ P - Preliminary and may change
/ Estimates from April 2005 to June 2022 were final
/ An “employed” persons are individuals 15 years old and over who were reported either as with a job or business for at least one hour in a week. Persons absent for other reasons such as furlough; disorganization or suspension of work, lack of clients, capital or materials; strike or lockout f. Government lockdown/community quarantine, etc. g. 12/ Estimates from April 2016 to 2023 used the 2012. Philippine Standard Occupation Classification
