Indicator Annual Per Capita Poverty Threshold, Poverty Incidence among Population, Poverty Incidence among Children belonging to Poor Families
Definition Poverty threshold is the minimum income required for a family/individual to meet the basic food and non-food requirements.
Poverty incidence is the number of individuals with income below the per capita poverty thresholds divided by the total number of individuals.
Poverty incidence among children belonging to poor families is the number of children belonging to families with income below the poverty thresholds divided by the total number of children.
Method of Computation Poverty threshold
Poverty threshold = FT/(FE/TBE)
where:
FT = Food Threshold
FE - actual food expenditure of families within the +/- ten percentile of the food threshold
TBE - total basic expenditure of of families within the +/- ten percentile of the food threshold

Poverty Incidence
P = (Q/n) *100

where:

Q= number of individuals with per capita annual income less than the per capita poverty threshold

n= total number of individuals

Poverty incidence among children belonging to poor families
P = (S/n) *100

where:

S= number of children belonging to families whose incomes are less than the poverty thresholds

n= total number of children
